Missive #57 – The Handsomest Man

Missive #57 - The Handsomest Man
Missive #57 - back
sent from: Waterloo Station, London, UK. destination: San Rafael, California, USA

The postcard reads:

At the Orchard where this card was bought there is a very nice place to sit and have tea and they’ve done a good job of promoting their literary heritage mostly around Rupert Brooke, Virginia Woolf, and their ‘Neo Pagan’ movement. There’s a booklet you can take from the Orchard with many choice nuggets about their lives there: “He had moved out of Cambridge hoping to escape his hectic social life there, but in vain. The charismatic young man drew a constant stream of visitors..” and, in a letter about Brooke, where he was found “sitting in the midst of admiring females with nothing on but an embroidered sweater”. Phew! He was a man-whore, is what they’re trying to say 🙂

This card is the most recent to have been added to the collection, acquired yesterday in Cambridge and sent today.

  1. I see the picture on the card and there is no mistaking the ear that the picture come from. Whispering somewhere in my head is a voice saying, haven't you seen a picture of your grandfather that looks like that?
