We travel daily on the suburban train lines in and out of London, with a lot of well dressed middle managers and dead-eyed office workers. Sometimes they clutch portfolios of information, presentations they need to make or assess. They tap out emails with subject lines like “re: Q4 report” or “fwd: new office reporting structure“. I quite shamelessly read them over their elbows because.. I’m a voyeur. Today a man was reading one report full of bullet points (wouldn’t real bullet points be amazing?) and on the title page it says

To be “the global multi-family office”
Achieving net profits of £30 million by 2015

I have no idea what any of that means.
