FIVE LESSONS I LEARNED FROM JERRY GOLDSMITHS CAREER THAT MAKE ME A BETTER ARTIST
#3. FOSTER EARLY RELATIONSHIPS
Jerry worked with many directors in his early years scoring radio dramas who popped up again and again throughout his career, and it’s no accident that his scores with regular collaborators are his boldest, his most experimental and groundbreaking. Franklin Schaffner, for whom he scored Planet of the Apes, Patton, Lionheart, and Paul Verhoeven (Basic Instinct, Total Recall and Hollowman) are just two examples. His later career was spent working with directors or producers with whom he had relationships going back at least 30 years or more.
