The day of performance for Troilus and Cressida approaches. I have no idea what to expect. I bought my costume, something more contemporary – I can’t carry off the skimpy leather armour + sandals look – that’s for Brad Pitt + Gerard Butler. With the guidance of a director friend we did some scene work in the only rehearsal space I could find – outside in the street. It’s good for getting past the first set of nerves, about dragging past the stage fright. As we worked on the scenes, I realised that the Trojans and Greeks may as well be rival Frat houses arguing over women and honour and jealousies and petty rivalries culminating in a lot of hugging and “hey we’re all bros!” statements. Before they kill each other, that is.
