This is a rare postcard that comes from, or rather, that depicts the place where I am writing. Bombay has changed quite a bit in 100 years, however. It is warm and balmy, probably the one constant of this place. Just as the chai-walas bring the tea, the dubba-walas bring people their packed lunches, so I have been christened the postcard-wala, the man who brings the postcards. In the heat haze and travel mind-fog it is hard to concentrate, let alone write.
