Starting out the week, I’m often at a loss of writing inspiration. The whole space is a big blank page, so I look for something to draw. On the train a woman sat opposite and she was a striking figure in her fur coat. It’s tough to draw someone surreptitiously who is sitting three feet away from you without drawing attention to yourself. I tried to get her hands as best as I could, but her face needed a lot of work, and I was sure that if I looked at her face again she was going to ask me what the hell I was doing. I wished I’d had more time to start it over, but here it is.
