I don’t know how this works or exactly why, but there’s one day a year when I have a superpower. That day is today. I’m the best version of me, not plagued by the usual uncertainties and insecurities. I can put everything in perspective, my mood is sunny. I don’t sweat the small stuff. It doesn’t matter what’s going on, the present moment feels sacred, and life feels like a blessing.
I try to hold onto that feeling, it’s a clarity about the things that matter that you gain on holiday or while away from the routine. But at the first coffee spill, or nasty email, or computer crash, it evaporates like a puddle in the desert, and I’m just regular old me again.
But that’s tomorrow.
Today I fly.
